Russian War Crimes and Environmental Violations Uncovered in Ukraine by UN Commission

A United Nations investigation has found further evidence of Russian war crimes in Ukraine, including indiscriminate attacks, rape, and the deportation of children to Russia. The investigation focused on Kherson and Zaporizhzhia provinces and documented attacks on civilian objects, resulting in numerous casualties. Russia has denied targeting civilians and dismissed Ukrainian allegations as fabricated. The commission also found evidence of Russian authorities committing rapes and sexual violence in Kherson province and documented the unlawful deportation of 31 children from Ukraine to Russia. In March, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin for overseeing the abduction of Ukrainian children. Meanwhile, Ukraine's president praised Ukrainian troops for defending Avdiivka and Kupiansk, where Russia has intensified attacks. Russia's recent offensive on Avdiivka resulted in serious losses for Moscow's forces, and Ukraine responded with counter-battery fire. The UK Ministry of Defence stated that the loss of Russian helicopters will impact their ability to defend and conduct further offensive activities.
