British Ambassador to Ukraine, Melinda Simmons, shared her experience of sleeping on the floor of a windowless hallway during Russia's missile attack on Kyiv. She also expressed her relief at the new day and that British diplomats remain in the Ukrainian capital. Late on May 8 and early on May 9, Russian troops fired 25 Kalibr and Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles at Ukraine, with Ukrainian defenses intercepting 23 of them.
