South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has suggested that his country might extend its support for Ukraine beyond humanitarian and economic aid if it comes under a large-scale civilian attack, signalling a shift in his stance against arming Ukraine for the first time. Yoon is scheduled to visit Washington next week for a summit with U.S. President Joe Biden to mark the 70th anniversary of the two countries' alliance. Yoon said he is open to peace talks with North Korea but opposes any "surprise" summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to "show off" to voters out of domestic political interests.
