Tensions Rise as UK Urges Ukraine to Show Gratitude

British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has urged Ukraine to show gratitude for weapons donations, stating that its international allies are "not Amazon" and need to be persuaded to provide further support. While the UK has been a staunch supporter of Ukraine since Russia's invasion, Wallace emphasized the importance of Ukraine convincing doubting politicians in other countries, including the US, that their support is worthwhile. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed confusion over Wallace's comments, stating that Ukraine has always been grateful for the support received. Despite not receiving a formal invitation to join NATO, Zelenskiy acknowledged positive news on defense packages from allies. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak affirmed that the UK will continue to provide support as needed.
