"Tunisia and EU Join Forces to Curb Migration"

Tunisia and the European Union have signed a "strategic partnership" deal aimed at combatting human traffickers and tightening borders to address the sharp increase in boats leaving Tunisia for Europe. The agreement includes disrupting the business model of smugglers, strengthening border control, and improving registration and return processes. The EU will allocate 100 million euros to Tunisia to combat illegal migration, and the deal also promotes macro-economic stability, trade, investment, green energy transition, and legal immigration. Italy will host an international conference on migration in Rome, with the participation of Tunisian President Kais Saied.
