"Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria Join Forces to Clear Black Sea Mines"

Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria have signed an agreement to clear mines drifting in the Black Sea, posing a threat to shipping since the start of Russia’s war in Ukraine. The initiative aims to make shipping safer, particularly for vessels transporting grain from Ukraine. The deal establishes a Mine Countermeasures Task Group among the three NATO allies, with each country contributing three minehunting ships and one command-control ship to the operation. The initiative is limited to these three countries for now, but may include other Black Sea states after the war ends.
