UK sends depleted uranium shells to Ukraine despite Putin's warning.

The UK has confirmed it will provide Kyiv with depleted uranium armour-piercing rounds alongside Challenger 2 tanks to aid in the fight against Russia. President Putin warned that Russia would be "forced to react" if the UK sent shells made with depleted uranium to Ukraine, accusing the West of deploying weapons with a "nuclear component". The UK's Ministry of Defence insisted that depleted uranium has nothing to do with nuclear weapons and that the risk of radiation is low. The US has confirmed it will not be sending any munitions with depleted uranium to Ukraine.
