"UK sends Storm Shadow missiles to aid Ukraine's counteroffensive against Russia"
TL;DR
The UK has confirmed it is supplying Ukraine with long-range Storm Shadow missiles, which have a range of over 250km, to help the country defend itself against Russian forces. The decision follows repeated pleas from Ukraine for more weapons from the West. The missiles will be compatible with Ukraine's existing, Soviet-era planes and will allow Ukrainian pilots to stay further from the frontlines. The move has been described as "calibrated and proportionate to Russia's escalations" by UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace.
