Ukraine Considers Mobilizing Men Abroad to Strengthen Military Forces

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has accepted an invitation from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy for a bilateral meeting, marking the first meeting between the two leaders since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Orban has been blocking EU aid to Ukraine but left the room during a vote on accession talks. Ukraine has received the last tranche of a previously approved EU aid package, and Germany and Finland have announced additional aid packages. Zelenskiy has stated that Russia's military planning and activity are slowing, while Ukraine's air defenses have shot down 34 of the 35 Iranian-made drones launched by Russia. Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov has announced plans to mobilize Ukrainian men living abroad for military service.
