Ukraine's Potential Retaliation to Russian Energy Attacks

Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko stated that if Russia attacks Ukraine's energy infrastructure again, Ukraine will consider retaliating by attacking Russia's oil and gas infrastructure. Halushchenko disagreed that such attacks would cause a surge in prices, as there are alternative sources of fuel available. Russian forces have already attacked Ukrainian energy infrastructure multiple times in recent weeks. Ukraine is implementing systems to protect critical infrastructure and has created a coordination headquarters to respond to shelling and ensure normal living conditions for the population. Despite power outages, Russia has failed to cause a complete blackout in Ukraine.
