US Imposes Sweeping Sanctions on Russia's Weapons Suppliers Amid Zelensky Visit

The United States has imposed sweeping sanctions on hundreds of individuals and entities, including those in China, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, as part of its efforts to target Russia's sanctions evasion, future energy capabilities, banks, and metals and mining sector. The sanctions aim to crack down on Russia's involvement in the war in Ukraine and its evasion of sanctions imposed by the US and its allies. The US Treasury and State departments targeted over 250 individuals and entities, including Chinese firms involved in the export of military-related materials to Russia, Turkish and UAE companies involved in the shipment of technology and equipment, and Russian financial institutions. The US also targeted companies developing Russia's Ust-Luga liquefied natural gas terminal, as well as Russian businessman Vladislav Sviblov and his gold mining company.
