U.S. Launches Airstrikes in Syria After UAV Attack.

The US conducted precision airstrikes in eastern Syria against facilities used by groups affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in response to a UAV attack that killed a US contractor and wounded six others. The intelligence community assesses the UAV to be of Iranian origin. The strikes were intended to protect and defend US personnel and were conducted to limit the risk of escalation and minimize casualties.
