US urges China's Xi to address Putin's 'war crimes' in Ukraine during Moscow visit

The US has called on Chinese President Xi Jinping to urge Russian President Vladimir Putin to cease the "war crimes" being carried out by Russia in Ukraine during their official talks in Moscow. The White House's National Security Council spokesman said seeking a ceasefire would not be enough. China released its plan to end the war last month, which did not specifically say that Russia must withdraw from Ukraine. Mr Xi's visit to Moscow comes days after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Mr Putin over war crime allegations.
