"U.S. Navy Officers Respond to Houthi Missile and Drone Attacks in Red Sea"
TL;DR
Officers aboard the USS Mason in the Red Sea face split-second decisions to defend against Houthi missile and drone attacks, with less than 15 seconds to assess and shoot down incoming threats. The Navy destroyer is part of a coalition protecting ships in the region, facing a new threat of anti-ship ballistic missiles. The crew remains on high alert, with the commander emphasizing the need for precision in defending the ship and its personnel. Recent joint U.S.-U.K. strikes targeted Houthi facilities in Yemen, as the militants vow to continue their attacks until Israel halts its military campaign against Hamas.
