Debate over Ukraine's NATO membership continues amidst Russian invasion.

Former US Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, has called for Ukraine to be brought into NATO to prevent it from acting alone and making national decisions on territorial claims. Kissinger argues that Russia is no longer the conventional threat it used to be and that Ukraine is now the best-armed country in Europe with the least strategically experienced leadership. He warns that arming Ukraine without bringing it into NATO is "madly dangerous" and could lead to a dissatisfied Ukraine and a dissatisfied Russia, creating a balance of dissatisfaction.
