Indonesian voters are choosing a new president in a pivotal election, with Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, tied to the Suharto era, as the front-runner. The successor will inherit a growing economy and ambitious infrastructure projects, with high stakes for the United States and China. The official vote tally is expected to take about a month, and early results indicate Subianto's lead. The election also includes thousands of other parliamentary posts, making it one of the world's largest elections.
