EU's China Policy Shifts, Raising Concerns for US and Taiwan.

European Union officials are calling for a new and joint approach towards China, despite differing views among member states. The EU's relationship with China is too important to not define its own strategy and principles, according to Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission. The EU's intention is to reduce and avoid risks, rather than completely disengage from China, which is in contrast to the US's approach of complete dissociation from Beijing. The EU's top diplomat, Josep Borrell, said the EU needs to recalibrate its strategy towards China and keep talking with China despite being in rival mode.
