Finland Builds Fence on Russian Border to Address Migration and Security Concerns.

Finland has started building a fence on its border with Russia, primarily to guard against a potential influx of migrants. The fence, made of steel mesh, will cover 200 kilometers of the border by the end of 2026 and will be equipped with surveillance equipment. The Finnish government decided to construct the barrier last year, fearing retaliation from Russia following its NATO application. The fence will cost an estimated 380 million euros and will be 3 meters high, topped with razor-wire and tracked by a road.
