A defected senior Russian security officer has revealed details of the paranoid lifestyle of Vladimir Putin, including the use of a secret train network, identical offices in different cities, and strict personal quarantine measures. The officer, Gleb Karakulov, described Putin as "pathologically afraid for his life" and living in an "information cocoon". Karakulov also confirmed that Putin relies heavily on reports from his security services and does not use a mobile phone or the internet.
