Kamala Harris' Africa Tour: Strengthening Ties and Softening Stances.

Ghana's President Nana Akufo-Addo has stated that "substantial elements" of a proposed anti-LGBTQ bill have been modified after an intervention by his government. The bill seeks to introduce some of the harshest anti-LGBTQ laws on the African continent, including jail time and "conversion therapy." However, one of the parliamentarians who introduced the bill insists that it remains "rigid and tough." US Vice-President Kamala Harris, who is on a tour of the West African country, said at a press conference that she feels strongly about supporting the freedom and equality of the LGBTQ community, calling it a human rights issue.
