Lula strengthens Brazil-China ties for trade and environmental recovery.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is on a state visit to China to strengthen trade ties and win support for his push for peace in Ukraine. Lula promised that "Brazil is back!" after four years of relative isolation under his predecessor Jair Bolsonaro. China is Brazil's biggest export market, and Lula is seeking to deepen economic links between the two countries. He is also seeking closer ties with the United States, Brazil's second-biggest trading partner.
