"Putin's Challenger Faces Paperwork Errors Ahead of Election"
TL;DR
Russia's Central Election Commission has found "errors" in Boris Nadezhdin's presidential election paperwork, with officials suggesting forgery and summoning him and another candidate to appear before the Commission on Monday. Nadezhdin, a critic of Putin's Ukraine war, has denied the accusations and may challenge the decision in court. Observers believe the Commission aims to prevent any challenge to Putin's power, especially amid domestic discontent over the war in Ukraine, which Putin may seek to avoid addressing during his electoral campaign.
