South Africa denies US accusation of supplying arms to Russia

South Africa's ruling party, the African National Congress (ANC), has criticized the US for its "reckless" accusation that South Africa sold arms to Russia in violation of international sanctions. The ANC called the accusation baseless and said it was an attempt to undermine South Africa's sovereignty. The US had imposed sanctions on Russia in 2014 after its annexation of Crimea, and has accused several countries of violating those sanctions by trading with Russia.
