South African Opposition Threatens to Arrest Putin's Allies.

South Africa is facing a dilemma over whether to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin if he visits the country in August for a summit of the BRICS group of nations. The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant against Putin for war crimes against Ukrainian children. However, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who is also president of the ruling ANC political party, has so far failed to undertake efforts to arrest Putin. The government is exploring "the option to look at extending customary diplomatic immunity to visiting heads of state in our country." South Africa's main opposition party, the Democratic Alliance, is considering looking to the courts to force the issue.
