UK's Suella Braverman assures safety of migrants in Rwanda.

UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman has defended the government's plan to send migrants who arrive in the UK through illegal routes to Rwanda, despite evidence of 12 Congolese refugees being shot dead by police there in 2018. Braverman said Rwanda is a safe country for migrants and that the High Court has found the government's plan to be legal. However, the plan is still facing a legal challenge. Braverman refused to commit to a date for achieving the government's goal of stopping small boats crossing the Channel. The government's legislation made provisions for individuals to challenge the decision to send them to Rwanda in cases of "extreme circumstances" of "unforeseeable, serious and irreversible harm".
