Wagner Group denies coup plot against Putin in Russia.
TL;DR
Yevgeny Prigozhin, the commander of the Wagner mercenary army, has denied accusations made by Kremlin ally Igor Girkin that he is planning a military coup against Russian President Vladimir Putin. Prigozhin argued that his Wagner army is not large enough to start a mutiny and instead implied that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu could stage a coup. Wagner, Prigozhin said, simply wants reforms in Russia. US officials estimate that Wagner has about 50,000 soldiers fighting in Ukraine.
