A new species of giant snake, measuring 26ft-long with a "human-sized" head, has been discovered in the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador by a documentary film crew led by Professor Bryan Fry. The team, working with the Indigenous Waorani people, found the snake while examining the impact of oil drilling on the area's animals. Named the northern green anaconda, it differs from the southern green anaconda and is believed to be the largest snake ever recorded.
