"Questions Remain Unanswered After Soldier's Death at Bathinda Base"

A soldier at Bathinda Military Station in India's Punjab state has died of a gunshot wound, which was not related to the killing of four soldiers by unknown attackers at the same base earlier in the day, according to the Indian army. The soldier was on sentry duty with his service weapon and is thought to have shot himself. The military base, located near the border with Pakistan, houses mostly families of soldiers.
