In response to increasing wildlife encroachment into human territories in Japan, a company called Ohta Seiki has developed Monster Wolf, a scarecrow-like deterrent. With lifelike proportions, glowing red LED eyes, and a chilling human voice, Monster Wolf aims to fill the void left by natural predators and scare away animals such as deer, wild boars, monkeys, and bears. About 180 Monster Wolves have been deployed across the country, proving to be effective in deterring wildlife. While some experts raise concerns about animals adapting to the deterrent, Ohta Seiki plans to collaborate with automotive firms and academic institutions to further develop Monster Wolf with GPS-enabled autonomous navigation.
