Dubrovnik's new Camino trail invites walkers beyond the Old Town

Dubrovnik has launched Camino Dubrovnik – Međugorje, a 145km, seven-stage pilgrim route designed to move visitors out of the crowded Old Town and into the surrounding countryside, including historic trails, an aqueduct, Mount Srđ and Fort Imperial, with the route ending in Međugorje. Traders, locals and officials say the trail offers a new perspective on Dubrovnik’s history while promoting sustainable tourism and relieving overtourism. Early-morning hikes are recommended to beat heat and crowds; a Camino passport is optional for stamps if desired.
