Nepal Implements Nationwide Ban on Solo Trekking.

Solo hiking will be banned in Nepal's national parks starting next month, making guides mandatory for all trekkers. The decision comes after incidents in which tourists became lost and sometimes died while hiking alone, leading to the misperception that Nepal was unsafe. The new rules apply to tourists of all experience levels and the fee charged to hikers has also been increased. Nepali trekkers are exempt from the new regulations.
