Ukraine's Counter-Offensive: Key Events and Village Liberations in Russia-Ukraine War.

Ukraine recaptured three villages from Russian forces in its southeast, while Russia shot down a Ukrainian fighter jet and repelled three attacks. Six people were killed by flooding in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, and Russia shelled a rescue boat evacuating people from the floods. Russia and Ukraine exchanged nearly 100 prisoners of war, and Ukraine sanctioned 178 Russian citizens. The chief of the mercenary Wagner Group said his soldiers would not sign any contracts with Russia’s defence ministry. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there was currently no foundation for any possible dialogue with Ukraine.
