Mexico Endures Unprecedented Heat Wave with Limited Relief

Mexico is experiencing an unusual late Spring heat wave, with temperatures soaring and cooler days possibly weeks away. At least six people have died this year due to the higher-than-normal temperatures. The national meteorological service forecast temperatures over 30 Celsius (86 Fahrenheit) on Thursday in all of the country's 32 states, with highs at least 10 degrees hotter in 23 of them. The current heat wave will continue for 10-15 more days, and another could begin in early July. Mexican authorities urged people across the country to take safety precautions.
