Wildfires Worsen Air Quality Across North America

The air quality in Chicago has dropped to the red, or unhealthy, category due to Canadian Wildfire Smoke. The air quality in the Chicago area ranked the worst in the country late Monday. Smoky skies and poor air quality are expected to last through Tuesday, with some improvement expected by Wednesday morning. People with heart or lung disease, older adults, children, and teens are advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, while everyone else is advised to choose less strenuous activities and shorten the amount of time spent outdoors.
