Winter Storm Blankets Eastern Europe, Causing Fatalities and Power Outages

Heavy snowfall and blizzards in eastern Europe, particularly in Romania, Moldova, and Bulgaria, have caused one death, widespread power outages, and disrupted transportation. The governments of Bulgaria and Moldova have declared a state of emergency in affected areas. In Romania, red weather warnings were issued, and over 400 localities experienced electrical outages. In Bulgaria, more than 1,000 settlements were left without electricity, and two people died in traffic accidents. Authorities have urged caution and advised against unnecessary travel due to dangerous road conditions.
