Surviving 40 days in Amazon rainforest after plane crash: Custody battle and heroic sister emerge.

Relatives of four children who survived a plane crash and spent 40 days alone in Colombia's Amazon rainforest are fighting for custody of the siblings. The Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) has assigned a caseworker to the children, and the agency has not ruled out the possibility of domestic abuse. The four Huitoto Indigenous children, ranging in age from 1 to 13, were traveling with their mother when the plane crashed, killing three adults. The children were found alive in the rainforest and are currently hospitalized. The ICBF is interviewing family members to determine who should care for the siblings.
