Ukraine's Kursk Gains Diminish by Over 40%

Ukraine has lost over 40% of the territory it initially seized in Russia's Kursk region during a surprise incursion in August, as Russian forces have launched counter-assaults. Ukraine's General Staff reports that Russia has deployed 59,000 troops to the region, and North Korean forces are also present. Despite Ukraine's efforts to disrupt Russian logistics, Russia continues to advance in eastern Ukraine. Kyiv is seeking new air defense systems from the U.S. and Britain to counter longer-range threats, as Russia occupies a fifth of Ukraine.
