Historic North Korea–Russia road bridge opens border transit

North Korea and Russia opened the first road bridge across the Tumen River, linking Rason and Khasan to move cargo first and passengers later this year, with a daily capacity of about 300 vehicles and 2,323 people. Pyongyang says it will boost trade, tourism and personnel exchanges, while some observers say it could also enable a covert military logistics corridor to support Russia’s war in Ukraine and expand cross-border labor and technology flows.
