Bruce Davis, Manson Follower Convicted in 1969 Killings, Dies Behind Bars at 83
Bruce Davis, a follower of Charles Manson convicted in two 1969 killings, died in California prison at age 83. He was serving a life sentence for the murders of Donald Shea and Gary Hinman and was not the direct killer in the Tate-LaBianca slayings. Davis had been repeatedly denied parole, including by Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2021; his death was confirmed Sept. 11 by the Solano County coroner at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville.
