Claudine Longet, French Singer-Actress Behind 1976 Sabich Shooting, Dies at 84
Claudine Longet, the French singer-actor known for The Party and the 1976 shooting of Olympian Spider Sabich, died at 84. She testified the gun fired accidentally; she was convicted in 1977 of criminally negligent homicide, receiving probation, a fine, and 30 days in jail. Sabich’s family settled a civil suit. Longet rose with A&M Records, was married to Andy Williams (1961–75) and had three children, and later remarried while living in Hawaii; Noelle Longet, her daughter, died in 2023.
