
Cambridge Memorial Drive gunman tied to 2020 police-attack case
46-year-old Tyler Brown of Boston was identified as the gunman who opened fire on Memorial Drive in Cambridge, injuring two people in life-threatening condition; he was shot by a state police trooper and a civilian and taken into custody. Brown had pleaded guilty in 2020 to eight charges, including armed assault with intent to murder for firing at a Boston Police officer, and received a 5–6 year prison sentence with probation and mandatory mental health treatment.
