mRNA flu vaccine rollout begins in Frederick County as first season approaches
The first mRNA-based flu vaccine, Moderna’s mFLUSIVA, is now available at three pharmacies in Frederick County for the 2026–27 season. Approved by the FDA for adults 50 and older, it offers faster production and potentially stronger protection than traditional shots, though long-term real-world effectiveness remains to be seen.
