Connelly Early Returns to Nationals Rotation with Strong Debut
Connelly Early has returned to the Washington Nationals' active roster after a prolonged injury absence, making a successful debut against the New York Mets. The left-handed pitcher, acquired from the Boston Red Sox in late July, threw three scoreless innings in his first appearance for Washington, signaling a healthy return to the 2027 starting rotation. While the trade for infielder Curtis Mead has yielded limited results for both clubs due to injuries, Early's performance suggests he will secure a starting spot next season.
