Wizards nab Tre Mann in guard-depth swap for Cam Whitmore
The Washington Wizards acquire Tre Mann and a 2027 second-round pick from the Clippers, plus cash, in exchange for Cam Whitmore, while sending Julian Reese to the Nuggets to be waived. Mann, a 25-year-old shooting guard who averaged 5.5 PPG on 32.3% 3PT with Charlotte last season, has an $8 million cap hit in 2026-27 and a potential $8 million team option for 2027-28. The trade gives Washington added guard depth behind Trae Young, Tre Johnson and Bub Carrington and leaves the roster with 14 standard contracts and one open two-way spot. The move also shifts $2.5 million of Whitmore’s salary into Mann’s, putting the Wizards roughly $8.4 million below the luxury tax for 2026-27.
