Acer bets big on Android tablets with the Iconia Duo trio
Acer announced three Iconia Duo tablets—S14, S12, and D12—ahead of Computex, all adopting a new 3:2 aspect ratio and up to 10 hours of battery with microSD expansion. The S14 is a 14.2-inch OLED with Dimensity 8300, the S12 a 12.2-inch OLED with Dimensity 7400, and the D12 a 12.2-inch LCD with Helio G99. North America releases are planned: cheaper models in August and the S14 in September, signaling a push to rival Samsung's Galaxy Tab in the large Android slate space. The lineup also previews AR/glasses, though Android tablet software remains a caveat.
