Delta trims snacks on short-haul flights, keeps service on longer legs
Delta Air Lines will drop complimentary snacks and beverages for Main Cabin and Delta Comfort+ on flights under 350 miles starting May 19, 2026; First Class remains unaffected. About 450 daily short-haul flights will have no in-flight service, while longer routes (350 miles or more) retain full beverage and snack service. Notable affected routes include LAX–SFO, JFK–BOS, and ATL–CLT. The change aims to address tight service windows on short hops rather than just cost-cutting, so travelers should plan ahead by eating or drinking at the airport or bringing their own snacks and verify itinerary distance for connections.
