Orioles Lock In Shane Baz on Five-Year, $68 Million Extension
Baltimore is finalizing a five-year, $68 million extension with pitcher Shane Baz, giving him two extra years of control after he pitched 166 1/3 innings in 2025 with a 4.87 ERA. The deal includes a $4 million signing bonus and salaries of $1 million (2026), $7 million (2027), $10 million (2028), $21 million (2029) and $25 million (2030). The Orioles acquired Baz in a multi-prospect trade last year and are betting on continued upside as they shape their rotation.
