Mia Sara Reveals Ferris Bueller's Day Off Wasn’t a Happy Experience
Mia Sara, who portrayed Sloane in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, says making the 1986 coming-of-age classic wasn’t a good experience, revealing a tense relationship with writer-director John Hughes. While the film marks its 40th anniversary with reflections from Matthew Broderick and others, Sara describes challenges on set and in the workplace, notes she did not enjoy the acting industry, and later left acting in 2013 to pursue writing (returning briefly in 2024’s The Life Of Chuck).
