Deschutes County Releases 911 Audio of Father Who Stopped Bend School Shooter
Deschutes County released the 911 audio of Kaylub Giamanco, who fatally shot the 16-year-old attacker at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend, Oregon, on October 15. The recording captures Giamanco’s frantic plea to dispatchers before he entered the school. The shooting killed four people, including three children and a teacher, with another teacher and student injured. Teacher Cassidy Schutz was identified as a hero for physically confronting the shooter before Giamanco arrived. The school remains closed for repairs, with a planned reopening in November.
