Porsche Sonderwunsch Unveils One-Off GT2 RS 'Flachbau RS' Homage to Moby Dick
Porsche’s Sonderwunsch division has revealed the Flachbau RS, a one-off, road-legal 911 GT2 RS transformed into a modern homage to the 1978 935/78 'Moby Dick' race car. Commissioned by a European client for several million dollars, the project took three years to complete, involving designers from Porsche, Manthey, and Weissach. The car retains the original 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque but features a completely redesigned slantnose front end, new aerodynamics, and a stripped interior. Weighing 70 pounds less than the base GT2 RS, the vehicle generates up to 1,221 pounds of rear downforce at 211 mph and was validated through 50 laps at the Nürburgring.
